Chaturthi Vrat is a fast observed by the devotees of Lord Ganesha and is mostly observed by men only. The devotees observe the vrat on the Chaturthi Tithi I.e, on the fourth day of the bright and dark half of the moon during Krishna Paksha ( waning phase of the lunar cycle). The vrat is kept from sunrise to moonrise and is kept to lead a peaceful life. Shukla paksha Chaturthi is observed as Vinayaka Chaturthi and Krishna paksha Chaturthi is observed as Sankashti Chaturthi.
