Who is Lord Swaminarayan
Lord Swami Narayan was born on the Navami day of Chaitra Shukla Paksha, dated 3 April 1781 in Chhapia village of Uttar Pradesh. Ram Navami festival was also being celebrated on that day. Chhapia is located near Ayodhya, so Swaminarayan’s parents were very happy on the birth of their child on the day of Ramnavami. Swaminarayan’s father’s name was Hariprasad and his mother’s name was Bhakti Devi. Swaminarayan’s childhood name was Ghanshyam. It is believed that after seeing Ghanshyam’s birth chart, astrologers had predicted that this child would eliminate the sufferings of the people and give them the right direction in life. Swaminarayan is known for doing many works of social reform. On Swaminarayan Jayanti, all his devotees get engaged in social service work like him.

Wake up early in the morning, take a bath and wear fresh clothes.
Bathe the idol of Lord Swaminarayan and keep it at the puja place. The worship space should be cleaned properly before installing the idol there.
Then light a lamp in front of Lord Swaminarayan and offer fruits and sweets as bhog.
Chant the mantras related to Lord Swaminarayan and take a pledge to follow his teachings with full dedication.
After the Puja ends, distribute the Prasad among the devotees.
